NEW ADD-IN PRODUCT "CSCATCHALL" ADDS IMPORTANT FEATURE TO MS EXCHANGE SERVER (TM)
Christensen Software just released CSCatchAll, an add-in to Microsoft Exchange Server(tm) that allows users to configure catch-all mailboxes to receive all email addressed to non-existing users.
This solves a surprisingly common problem in Microsoft Exchange installations. Exchange does not support catch-all email addresses natively and issues a non-delivery report back to the mail sender if no matching recipient is found for an incoming email. Many Exchange users need a more flexible way to deal with such emails and want otherwise undeliverable emails to arrive in a postmaster email account for further distribution by hand.
Available script-based attempts to solve this problem all have two shortcomings: They are hard to install and configure, and they reroute all email to a given domain and ignore existing users and their email addresses. CSCatchAll only filters out email with recipient addresses that can not be found in the active directory and reroutes only these to the user with the address "catchall@yourdomainname.com".
Installation and configuration of CSCatchAll are exceptionally easy: The product comes in a self-installing executable and needs no configuration at all. After installing the software, users just add catch-all addresses "catchall@domain.com" to existing mailboxes in the active directory.
CSCatchAll runs on Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server and works with Exchange 2000 and 2003. The product costs $95.00(US) for a server license with no limits on users or mailboxes. A 30-day trial version is available at http://www.christensen-software.com/cscatchall/download.htm.
